Passion
Since the onset of the Ukraine conflict in March 2022, the Foundation has directed its fundraising efforts to provide critical support to those affected by the war. Our mission is deliver urgent aid and compassionate resettlement to help individuals and families rebuild their life’s.
Action
Support vehicles and extractions
Our first support vehicle, loaded with essential medical supplies and emergency provisions, departed for the Ukraine-Slovakia border in April 2022. This vehicle, donated by the foundation, enabled consistent transport of critical supplies to hospitals and shelters.
In collaboration with the MAD Foundation’s Operation SafeDrop, active in Poland and Ukraine since March 2022, we help deliver aid and facilitate safe extractions for vulnerable families. Operation SafeDrop’s team transports vital supplies into Ukraine and provides safe passage westward for women, children, and others seeking refuge from the conflict.
Resettling Ukrainian Families in the North East
In a personal act of support, trustees Mr. and Mrs. Baggett welcomed a Ukrainian family into their home for several months. During their stay, they helped the family acclimate by introducing them to local sights, supporting their English language learning, and providing financial assistance for the first year’s rent on a flat. With their guidance, the family secured employment and began building a stable, independent life in Newcastle.
Homes for Ukraine Fundraising Event, 2023
The Adderstone Foundation organised a private fundraising dinner featuring presentations and guest speakers, including James Hewitt from the MAD Foundation, Gavin and Louisa Dunn. The event was a great success with many of the attendees generously donating vitamins and medical supplies to be transported directly by the support vehicle into Ukraine. This gathering not only raised critical funds but also collected valuable resources that provide tangible aid for those affected by the conflict.
Impact
On a personal level, Mr. and Mrs. Baggett’s support for a Ukrainian family has offered stability and new opportunities in the North East.
The Foundation’s van donation and medical supplies have been directly deployed to hospitals on the front lines, offering essential care to those injured or impacted by the war.
